This body of work focused on a childlike flower as an icon. It allowed me to experiment with colour harmony, surface texture, and the significance of extraneous mark making rooted by a thematic emblem. Flowers symbolize many things. Out of manure grows flowers, so for me they are an icon of thriving despite circumstance.

Stylistically, I am working to create something eclectic, that while paying homage to some of my art heroes (Twombly, Basquiat, Debuffet, Baechler, Klee, Haring.) through a certain degree of appropriation, allows me to have my own unique conversation with the viewer.
